New neighbors

Yes, that's a beaver print in the snow. Apparently they've been waddling around like they own the place. We had no idea until it snowed.

I don't know if they live down this hole or were just checking it out. My guess is they are settled in because the baby needs a safe, warm place for the winter.

A sinkhole exposed the drainage tunnel that appears to lead to their abode, probably more like a cave than a lodge.

The parents really checked out the scene. We hope they found a stream to their liking. Time will tell.
